In Situ Robotic Fabrication
The main topic of this research paper is the direct employment of industrial robots on the construction site.

For this purpose, the project mainly addresses cognitive characteristics. The objective is that the robot recognizes its own position, the surroundings and its components with regard to the material tolerances and then processes the information gained. Moreover, manually produced components are combined with components manufactured by the robot. As a result, the robotic system has to respond to construction tolerances and be able to adapt to changing conditions autonomously.
Research and development of robotics is advanced by the ECHORD project within the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union in order to create new use cases and develop the necessary technologies. Along with supporting our project and industry partners, we would like to examine the usage of innovative technologies in the building industry, so that new possibilities open up and new areas of application for architects and the robot industry arise.
