Joseph Kenny, is an Architectural Designer and Architectural Researcher with experience in the United States, particularly in Iowa and the Greater Midwest Region. He received both his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture (May 2020) and Master of Architecture (May 2022) from South Dakota State University. He Graduated with honors, and additionally received national recognition from the Building Technology Educators Society and American Institute of Architects for his excellence in research and scholarly work.
Upon completion of his studies in the United States, he joined the MAS in Architecture and Digital Fabrication at ETH Zurich in the 22-23 class. Over the course of his studies, he was involved in many university lead research projects where he explored and refined his research focus in computation and digital fabrication practices. After the completion of the MAS in 2023, he joined Gramazio Kohler Research to continue pursuing research from his thesis project, supervised by Dr. Daniela Mitterberger and Gonzalo Casas and in collaboration with Eleni Vasiliki Alexi, focused on extended reality technologies and human machine interaction.
