Panayiotis works in the Digital Timber group at Gramazio Kohler Research. Originally from Cyprus, he studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he earned a Diploma of Architect Engineer. He then spent two years in Barcelona at LaMáquina by Noumena, working in digital fabrication, robotics, and large-scale 3D printing. During this time, he contributed to projects at all stages, from concept design and planning to final execution.
In 2023, he joined the MAS in Architecture and Digital Fabrication program at ETH Zurich. His thesis explored the design and fabrication of complex interlocking timber-to-timber structures using the COMPAS Timber package. As part of the research team at Gramazio Kohler, Panayiotis draws on his experience with timber frame structures and joinery to support the ongoing development and application of COMPAS Timber. |
