Inés Ariza is an architect and researcher from Buenos Aires. Through her current research work, Inés is developing digital workflows for physics, fabrication and assembly-based construction details for robotic fabrication. Inés received her Diploma in Architecture with honors from the University of Buenos Aires in 2011, and her Master of Science in Design and Computation from MIT in 2016 with the master thesis “Decoding Details: Integrating physics of assembly in discrete element structures”. Inés has practiced as an architect in Argentina with particular involvement in the detail design and construction phases. Alongside her professional practice, Inés taught Morphology and Geometric Representation at the University of Buenos Aires, and served as a teaching assistant at MIT for design and fabrication courses. Inés has received several honors including the Fulbright Scholarship in 2014, the Quarra Matter Fellowship in 2016, and the ITA Fellowship in 2017. Since November 2023, Inés is a Postdoc researcher at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication (Prof. Fabio Gramazio, Prof. Matthias Kohler) at the ETH Zurich. |
