Chaoyu Du received a dual master degree at both Tongji University and Technical University of Berlin, in both Architectural and Urban Design. Before coming to the ETH she collaborated with various architectural offices in China such as TJAD and ECADI. Besides architectural practice she is also has several publications in the realm of architectural theory and history, more specifically 20th century modern architecture in China.
Chaoyu came to Zürich to gain insight in the field of digital fabrication and architecture by joining the MAS DFAB 2018-19 program. During this time she worked on a range of different projects dealing with various novel construction techniques prior to completing her thesis on architectural acoustic design with a focus of geometries and data evaluation. Now she is a research assistant intern at GKR, delving deeper into the realm of acoustics. |
